TE buffer, or Tris-EDTA buffer, is a commonly used solution in molecular biology applications involving DNA and RNA. It's named for its two main components: Tris and EDTA. 

Agarose is a linear polysaccharide extracted from red algae (seaweed) and is a primary component of agar. It consists of repeating units of D-galactose and 3,6-anhydro-L-galactopyranose, linked by glycosidic bonds.
